Project Gannet - AFRy acquires BLIX
In line with AFRY’s strategy to become a global leader in the clean energy transition, AFRY acquires BLIX to expand its global presence and expertise in the wind energy industry.
BLIX is a leading independent consultancy firm specialising in renewable energy solutions, committed to being at the forefront of the energy transition. The Netherlands-based company has a strong position in the offshore and onshore wind energy market and operates locally and globally through its offices in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea.
By joining forces with BLIX, AFRY enhances its competence and consulting service offerings in the offshore and onshore wind sector and will be able to cover the entire project life cycle from the early strategy phase to the execution and operation of the wind farm.
“Becoming part of AFRY gives us the leverage to stay at the forefront of the energy transition in the fast-growing global renewable energy market. We are delighted to drive and expand AFRY’s presence in the Netherlands, the Baltics and other thriving countries in Eastern Asia. We are looking forward to entering new markets together and offering our longstanding expertise in offshore and onshore wind, offshore grids, system integration and nature inclusive design”, say Albert van der Hem & Maarten Timmerman, Directors & Founders, BLIX Consultancy.
The new team will complement AFRY’s international pool of experts in renewable energy and further expand the broad range of services and solutions to foster decarbonisation and enable the achievement of net-zero emissions.
“We are proud to welcome such an experienced team with a strong commitment to providing innovative solutions for a sustainable future. The shared values, competencies and ambitions make BLIX a key addition to the team and enables AFRY to move ahead with its strategy of being a global leader in the clean energy transition”, says Peter Plug, Head of Renewables and Thermal Power, Energy Division, AFRY.
BLIX has annual net sales of approximately 50 MSEK and 25 employees. BLIX will be consolidated into AFRY as of March 2023.
